Binance.Charity - The first non-profit to enable 100% Transparent charitable giving

On 24th February 2022, Russia launched a full-scale military invasion on Ukraine. The conflict has the potential to be a humanitarian catastrophe. In the 48 hours since Russia launched a full-scale invasion on Ukraine, the UN reports 120,000 people have already fled their homes. Neighboring countries are receiving refugees. Poland, for instance, has estimated that it could receive up to 1 million refugees.

In response to this crisis, we are donating $10 million USD to major Intergovernmental Organizations and local NGOs on the ground to help provide emergency relief to refugees and children to support logistics on the ground such as food, fuel and supplies for refugees in countries bordering with Ukraine and more.

The crypto space was hit with a tough blow when it emerged that a DEFI protocol, PoolTogether is currently being sued.

PoolTogether is a savings protocol operating for 3 years, which allows people across different countries and backgrounds to earn high interest rates and rewards by pooling their savings and lending out crypto. The lawsuit is based on the false premise that the protocol is running a lottery system.

To help them in their time of need, Sharkbros setup up a  fundraiser, 100% of all funds raised went towards covering legal fees associated with the case in the form of purchasing a Pooly NFT.

Ocean Cleanup

"Every year, millions of tons of plastic enter the oceans, of which the majority spills out from rivers. A portion of this plastic travels to ocean garbage patches, getting caught in a vortex of circulating currents. If no action is taken, the plastic will increasingly impact our ecosystems, health, and economies.

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of plastic. To achieve this objective, we have to work on a combination of closing the source and cleaning up what has already accumulated in the ocean and doesn’t go away by itself. This goal means we plan to put ourselves out of business – once we have completed this project, our work is done."

Shark Research

Highlighting the problems faced by sharks is the easy bit.

Our challenge is to take problems and find real-world solutions. Shark conservation is a global problem and needs global solutions.

We need to change our understanding and appreciation for sharks. And we need to change how we manage and protect populations on a global scale.

We believe the best way to safeguard the future of sharks is through a solutions-based approach that promotes positive change.

All of our projects, campaigns, and policy actions drive progress towards these 3 key goals:

  1. SPECIES PROTECTION - protection of endangered species through legislation and effective conservation action. Our Saving Species projects place science at the heart of conservation action.

  2. FISHERIES MANAGEMENT - fisheries managed for sustainability to prevent declines in non-threatened species. We're working to transform fisheries to prevent population decline through overfishing.

  3. RESPONSIBLE TRADE – we promote responsible trade and reduced demand for non-sustainable shark products.

Our conservation goals set the agenda for our work. We achieve these through projects and campaigns that bring together different players."
